Lt. Col. John Melloy, 12th Flying Training Wing Inspector General, was presented the Air Medal and Bronze Start Feb. 4, 2012 for meritorious achievement during a recent deployment as the Commander of the 321st Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron in Baghdad, Iraq.  While deployed, Mellow commanded the King Air 350 and C-130E advisory squadron, executing more than thirteen hundred combat sorties, through thirty-five hundred mishap-free flight hours, overcoming the constant threat of surface to air attacks and further the United States' goal of a stable Iraq.
