FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas —Lt. Col. Zoltan Krompecher passes custody of the battalion colors to Command Sgt. Maj. Alvin Chaplin Sr. as the Soldiers and civilians of Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Army North, witnessed the battalion’s inaugural change of command and change of responsibility ceremony at Fort Sam Houston’s Rehearsal of Concept Drill Facility July 12. Lt. Gen. William Caldwell IV, the commanding general of U.S. Army North and senior commander of Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis, served as the reviewing officer for the ceremony. Krompecher assumed command from Lt. Col. Shannon Miller, and Chaplin assumed responsibility for the battalion from Command Sgt. Maj. Eddie Fields III.
