12 MDG sets schedule, guidelines for children’s physicals

By 1st Lt. Candido Ramirez 12th Medical Group

In preparation for sports, summer programs and the next school year, the 12th Medical Group will offer annual physicals to Tricare Prime Randolph Clinic enrollees that are between 7 and 18 years of age.

Physical examinations will take place May 3, June 20, July 18, Aug. 1 and Aug. 15. Appointments may be booked by calling the appointment line at 916-9900, or may be made online at www.TricareOnline.com.

Children that have asthma, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or seizure-related conditions must have been evaluated by their Primary Care Manager within the past six months to be eligible for the physical.

Each physical will require approximately one hour to complete. Staggered appointment times will be assigned and each child will progress through several stations. A parent or legal guardian must accompany all children for the entire exam.

Children should wear a T-shirt and shorts and bring their glasses or contact lenses with them, if applicable. Additionally, it is important to bring completed school, sports forms and shot records to the appointment.

The dates and times have been blocked specifically for school and sports physicals; therefore, no other type of appointment will be seen during these blocked times. The goal is to provide world-class service while maximizing the availability of appointments for patients.
