COLONEL JOHN LAMOUREUX

Army Colonel John Lamoureux, a native of West Hartford, Conn., was commissioned a Medical Service Corps Officer in 1988 after graduating from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Following his commission, he attended the Officer Basic Course and then Army flight training at Fort Rucker, Ala. He then served in numerous flight, staff and command positions including: Flight Section Leader, Training Officer, and Flight Operations Officer with the 377th Medical Company (Air Ambulance) in Korea; Commander, C Company, 501st Forward Support Battalion of the 1st Armored Division; Chief, Division Medical Operations Center for the 1st Armored Division while deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina for Operation Joint Endeavor; S-3 / Air of the 421st Medical Evacuation Battalion, Germany; Officer Advanced Course Small Group Instructor; Executive Officer to the Commander, U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School and Fort Sam Houston; Commander, 50th Medical Company (Air Ambulance), 159th Aviation Brigade (Assault) of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) while deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom; Executive Assistant to The Surgeon General and Commander, U.S. Army Medical Command; and Commander, 232nd Medical Battalion. Colonel Lamoureux's most recent assignment was the MEDCOM Representative to the Army's Services and Infrastructure Core Enterprise implementation team.

His military decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medals, Air Medals, Army Commendation Medals, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, The Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal, and the NATO Medal. In addition, his military awards include the Combat Action Badge, the Expert Field Medical Badge, the Senior Aviator Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Parachutist Badge. Colonel Lamoureux is also a graduate of the United States Naval War College.
