CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT AVERY V. WOOLRIDGE

Chief Master Sergeant Avery V. Woolridge is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 12th Flying Training Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. He advises the 12th FTW commander on all matters affecting the health, morale and welfare of enlisted, officer and civilian personnel across the wing.  The 12th FTW is the Source of America's Airpower, delivering unrivaled airpower leaders for the future of the U.S. Air Force. The wing consists of three flying groups and a maintenance directorate spanning more than 1,600 miles.

The 12th FTW is responsible for four single-source aviation pipelines. These pipelines include combat systems officer training, pilot instructor training, as well as remotely-piloted aircraft pilot indoctrination and basic sensor operator qualification. The wing is responsible for all airmanship programs for the U.S. Air Force Academy and serves as the single screening point for all hopeful aviators to include pilots, RPA pilots and CSOs. The wing also hosts the introduction to fighter fundamentals program as well as conducts electronic warfare training for the U.S. Air Force and multi-national forces.

The 12th FTW graduates more than 850 instructor pilots, 350 combat systems officers, 190 RPA pilots and 330 sensor operators each year.

Chief Woolridge entered the Air Force in 1986 and began his career as an Aircraft Navigation Systems technician. He subsequently held a variety of management and leadership positions including lead production superintendent, field training detachment flight chief, and superintendent of command logistics assessments. Chief Woolridge has served overseas in Okinawa and South Korea and has deployed to Southwest Asia in support of numerous operations including SOUTHERN WATCH and IRAQI FREEDOM.

Prior to his current assignment, Chief Woolridge served as the Director of logistics superintendent at Seventh Air Force at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea.
