Affected During The Great Texas Airshow

During the weekend of The Great Texas Airshow, from April 5-7, there will be certain facilities run by the 502nd Force Support Squadron throughout Joint Base San Antonio that will have reduced manning or will be closed. In particular, the fitness centers at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston and JBSA-Lackland will have reduced manning, while the Rambler at JBSA-Randolph will have 24/7 access only. The Fitness Assessment Cell at JBSA-Randolph will be closed on April 5. The clubs at JBSA-Lackland and JBSA-Randolph will be closed to assist with airshow operations. At JBSA-Randolph, the Information Tickets & Tours Office, the Frame Shop, and the Outdoor Recreation Office will be closed on April 5. The JBSA-Randolph Oaks Golf Course will be closed April 5-7. JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Tax Center Now Open
This year, the only tax assistance center available will be at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston to provide free tax preparation and e-filing of federal and state income tax returns for eligible military taxpayers, family members, and retirees. These services will focus on providing tax services to active duty taxpayers in the grades of E-1 to E-5 and O-1 and O-3, their families, and retirees who make a combined income of $60,000 or less. The taxpayer must live within 50 miles of 2450 Dragon Valley Road, building 133, at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234. Limited services will be available for military retirees. RV Parking In Base Housing Areas
All recreational type vehicles on JBSA are to be stored in the base RV storage lots or in residential garages. Long-term RV parking on streets, in alleys, or off-road areas is not permitted. Trailers, boats, or recreational vehicles may park in military housing driveways for 24 hours for the purpose of loading and unloading. Vehicles used for this purpose may be taken out of the storage lot and parked in the housing area one day prior to departure and one day after return. Citations will be issued to parked RVs in violation of this policy, which can result in a penalty of either points accrued and/or fines ranging from $65-$530. Individualized Initial Counseling
Monday-Friday, Joint Transition Readiness Center, 3931 Okubo Barracks, building 3639. Those separating or retiring from active duty must meet with a counselor to officially start the transition process. Service members complete a personal self-assessment to develop their Individual Transition Plan to identify their unique needs and establish post-transition goals. 100% Credential Checks at All
JBSA Locations from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Security Forces will now enforce 100% credential checks of all vehicle occupants between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. at all JBSA installation entry control points. All vehicle occupants will be required to submit proof of identification. Those without valid access authorization will be required to obtain a pass for entry.

Reverse Career Fair
April 30 from 1-4 p.m., Arnold Hall Community Center. Abandon the traditional job fair format and reverse the roles - employers will approach job seekers during a round table discussion to provide insight and advice as they pitch their elevator speech to you. Stress and Time Management

RV Parking In Base Housing Areas
All recreational type vehicles on JBSA are to be stored in the base RV storage lots or in residential garages. Long-term RV parking on streets, in alleys, or off-road areas is not permitted. Trailers, boats, or recreational vehicles may park in military housing driveways for 24 hours for loading and unloading. Vehicles used for this purpose may be taken out of the storage lot and parked in the housing area one day before departure and one day after return. Citations will be issued to parked RVs in violation of this policy, which can result in a penalty of either points accrued and/or fines ranging from $65-$530. JBSA-Lackland Area Defense Counsel Office Closures
The JBSA-Lackland ADC office will close at noon for training on the last Friday of every month. If members need assistance during these dates/times, please have them email us at LacklandADC@gmail.com and/or call 210-671-2924 (which will be forwarded to an on-call paralegal). COVID-19 Vaccine Available at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center
The WHASC immunizations clinic has received a shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and has the COVID-19 vaccine for patients aged 6 months and up.  All patients who have not received a 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine (released in the US in September 2023) are eligible for a booster vaccine. Revised JBSA-Lackland Commissary Hours
The hours for the JBSA-Lackland Commissary are now 7-8:30 a.m. self-checkout only and 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., regular in-lane and self-checkout, Monday through Friday. For Saturday and Sunday, hours are 7-8:30 a.m. self-checkout only; and 8:30 to 6 p.m. regular in-lane and self-checkout. These additional morning hours will benefit our patrons with additional shopping hours.

100% Credential Checks at All
JBSA Locations from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Security Forces will now enforce 100% credential checks of all vehicle occupants between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. at all JBSA installation entry control points. All vehicle occupants will be required to submit proof of identification. Those without valid access authorization will be required to obtain a pass for entry.

Pre-Deployment Briefing
Mondays & Wednesdays from 9-10 a.m., Military & Family Readiness Center, building 5725. When deploying, having all your personal and family affairs in order is vital. This briefing provides helpful information to assist with all phases of deployment. This is a mandatory briefing for all service members scheduled to deploy, go on TDY longer than 30 days, or go on a remote assignment. Spouses are encouraged to attend. Affected During The Great Texas Airshow

During the weekend of The Great Texas Airshow, from April 5-7, there will be certain facilities run by the 502nd Force Support Squadron throughout Joint Base San Antonio that will have reduced manning or will be closed. In particular, the fitness centers at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston and JBSA-Lackland will have reduced manning, while the Rambler at JBSA-Randolph will have 24/7 access only. The Fitness Assessment Cell at JBSA-Randolph will be closed on April 5. The clubs at JBSA-Lackland and JBSA-Randolph will be closed to assist with airshow operations. At JBSA-Randolph, the Information Tickets & Tours Office, the Frame Shop, and the Outdoor Recreation Office will be closed on April 5. The JBSA-Randolph Oaks Golf Course will be closed April 5-7. The JBSA-Randolph Library will be closed on April 6.

Survivor Benefit Plan Group Briefing

The Survivor Benefit Plan briefing with the SBP Counselor is required by law and helps the service members and their spouse become familiar with the options, effects, and advantages of SBP. Infant Massage
