JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH - U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Christopher Stein, Band of the West trumpeter, performs taps to close a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Cadet Circle on Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, Sept. 11, 2026. Taps is historically used to signify peace, honor and a final farewell for fallen service members, but was played during this ceremony for all of the fallen Americans from that fateful day.
