KISSIMMEE, Florida - Representing the research team from the U.S. Air Force 59th Medical Wing at Joint base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, Tarjani Shukla (left), lead bioinformatics and diagnostics research scientist, and Lauren Cornell (right), lead scientist of diagnostics and therapeutics for the Joint Integrative Clinical Medicine research directorate, accept the Young Investigator competition’s second place award for a poster presentation titled, “Effectively Screening Bedtime Procrastination & Smartphone Use Among Active Duty Service Members: A Quality Improvement Initiative,” at the 2026 Military Health System Research Symposium in Kissimmee, Florida, Aug. 6. The competition honored early-career researchers for their innovative studies of warfighter health and readiness. Presenting the award is Dr. Terry Rauch, acting deputy assistant secretary of war for health readiness policy and oversight.
