JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas - Joshua Sandoval, 902nd Civil Engineer Squadron heating, ventilation and air conditioning mechanic, charges a condenser with 404a refrigerant at a dining facility at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, Sept. 18, 2024. The condenser, part of a walk-in refrigerator system, plays a vital role in maintaining safe and consistent cold storage for food supplies. Proper maintenance of refrigeration systems is crucial to preventing food spoilage, minimizing waste and ensuring that meal service is uninterrupted. The 902nd CES performs routine maintenance and repairs to uphold the reliability of key base infrastructure, supporting the mission of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph.
