JBSA recognizes hard work of volunteers at annual awards ceremony

Christopher Lowry (left), Chief, Military and Family Readiness, present the “Big Check” to Col. Shane R. Cuellar, 502nd Force Support Group commander. The check represents in dollars the amount of volunteer hours the program provides to Joint Base San Antonio. The presentation was made during the Volunteer of the Year Awards Ceremony at the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Military & Family Readiness Center Oct. 28.

JBSA recognizes volunteers who go beyond the call of service for military community

An oversized check, representing the monetary value in hours given by volunteers to JBSA calculated by last year, was presented to JBSA leaders. JBSA members had volunteered a total of 342,396 hours in 2018, which came out to a monetary value of $8.4 million.
