Team Randolph’s Combined Federal Campaign exceeds $1 million

By Robert Goetz 12th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs

Team Randolph's Combined Federal Campaign came to a successful conclusion with members of base units pledging more than $1,007,000 to charitable organizations.
Although the active campaign has ended for most units, donations will still be accepted through January.

"It took a tremendous amount of effort from everyone on base to organize the campaign, get the word out, process the pledges and ultimately raise $1,007,547.37 to date," said Maj. Joey Dible, CFC project officer. "In addition to collecting pledge cards, many units conducted fund-raisers such as golf tournaments, parking space raffles, burger burns and pie-in-the-face contests to increase their donations."

"Generosity came from individual donors along with collective groups such as booster clubs, flights and offices who pitched in together to make this campaign a success," she added.

The Combined Federal Campaign is an annual fund-raising effort - the largest workplace charity campaign in the U.S. - that gives some 4 million servicemembers and federal and postal employees a chance to contribute to charitable organizations of their choice. The agencies support human health and welfare.

It is one of only two official fund-raising campaigns allowed on Air Force bases each year. The other is the Air Force Assistance Fund campaign, which is conducted in the spring.

Participants in the campaign had an opportunity to donate money to nearly 2,000 charitable agencies - all of them prescreened by federal employees - through payroll deduction.

"With over $1 million provided to agencies that cover most of society's needs, there are people all over the world benefiting directly from our efforts," Major Dible said. "In a time when we are learning to tightly manage our resources of our profession and at home, we still found a few more dollars to donate and some extra time to give to the cause. It's in our nature."
