Going above and beyond

By David DeKunder Wingspread staff writer

A Team Randolph transportation civilian vies for Air Force-level recognition after earning the Air Education and Training Command Civilian Category I Supervisor/Leader Award recently.

Tracy Kreusler, 12th Logistics Readiness Division supervisory transportation assistant, works in the base's personal property and passenger travel section, where she briefs base members on shipping their personal property and makes travel arrangements for international AETC students.

Ms. Kreusler said she appreciates being recognized for the work she has done.

"After working 23 years at Randolph, it is an honor to have been nominated and chosen as an AETC transportation civilian supervisor and leader," she said. "There are a lot of people who are deserving of this award. I was honored that my supervisors would put in the time to recognize me."

Among her many accomplishments, Ms. Kreusler is credited with completing 45 permanent change-of-station port calls with a 100 percent satisfaction rate, reconciling $2.1 million in travel ticket costs for servicemembers and civilians in the base's centrally billed account and processing $197,000 in recouped unused airline tickets and low-cost fares through the GSA City-Pair Fares program.

Ms. Kreusler was Team Randolph's leader in transitioning to the Defense Travel System, which allowed active-duty personnel and civilians to file travel vouchers online.

"The logistics division oversaw the whole DTS transition with our counterparts in finance," she said. "I discussed any issues and problems we had with the system with finance so we could resolve them and have the system run smoothly."

Larry Beach, 12th LRD lead transportation assistant, said Ms. Kreusler is a perfectionist when it comes to doing the job right.

"Ms. Kreusler is a perfect example of the customer service employee," he said. "She is always ready to help anyone who needs it and goes above and beyond what is expected of her. She demands perfection from herself and as a result, causes her subordinates to do their best to excel."

Ms. Kreusler moves on to compete for the Air Force level Civilian Supervisor award.
