Isom met with future combat medics and Army leaders during a visit to the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas, on June 19, to emphasize the importance of training, preparedness, and leadership for those preparing to serve in large-scale combat operations.
The Combat Medic Specialist Training Program trains Soldiers in emergency medical treatment in the field, trauma management for combat casualties, and prolonged casualty care until evacuation.
