Refill Information

Refills can be requested through:

TRICARE Online

Refills can be picked up at any JBSA Pharmacy Refill pick-up location, regardless of where you first filled your prescription.

Home Delivery

Interested in receiving your medications by home delivery, a TRICARE service provided by Express Scripts?  Visit the ESI Federal Pharmacy Services  webpage or download the Express Scripts Mobile App to learn more about your Home Delivery options.

Electronic Prescribing
Thank you for choosing JBSA Pharmacy to fill your prescription needs. Your civilian network provider can prescribe medications directly into the following JBSA Pharmacies with the following information:

1. San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) Main Outpatient Pharmacy is called "DoD Ft Sam ePhcy"

2. JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Community Pharmacy is called "DoD Ft Sam Comm ePhcy"

3. JBSA-Lackland Satellite Pharmacy is callled "DoD Lackland ePhcy"

4. JBSA-Randolph Pharmacy is called "DoD Randolph ePhcy"

5. JBSA-Gateway Bulverde Clinic Pharmacy is called "DoD Bulverde ePhcy"
Prescription Costs

Your costs depend on where you fill your prescription and the type of drug:

  • Generic formulary
  • Brand name formulary
  • Non-formulary

Military Pharmacy

Get up to a 90-day supply of most prescription drugs.

  • $0 copayment
  • Not all drugs are available.
  • Call first to check.

Home Delivery

Get up to a 90-day supply of most prescription drugs.

  • Generic formulary: $7
  • Brand name formulary: $24
  • Non-formulary: $53 (unless you get medical necessity)

Network Pharmacy

Get up to a 30-day supply of most prescription drugs.

  • Generic formulary: $11
  • Brand name formulary: $28
  • *Non-formulary: $53 (unless you get medical necessity)

If you want a 90-day supply from your network pharmacy, you'll pay the cost for each 30-day supply. For example, a 90-day supply of a generic drug will cost $33.

**Network Pharmacy: Some non-formulary drugs are only covered through Home Delivery. Check with Express Scripts before filling prescriptions for non-formulary drugs at a retail network pharmacy.

The San Antonio Military Health System (SAMHS) is responsible for providing management and oversight of business, clinical, and educational functions of all Military Health Systems (MHS) medical treatment facilities (MTF's) located in the San Antonio metropolitan area.
