Lt. Gen. Marc Sasseville, Continental U.S. NORAD Region-1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern) Commander, looks over the landing gear during a pre-flight walk-around on an F-16 Fighting Falcon prior to a flight for the F-16 Senior Officer Course, hosted by the 149th Fighter Wing at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. The four-week course, designed to requalify experienced F-16 fighter pilots, focused on advanced handling characteristics, tactical formation and instrument-flying procedures. He also regained his air-air refueling currency during the course along with flying basic fighter maneuvers. He was required to requalify in the fighter jet based on his roles and responsibilities as the CONR-1 AF (AFNORTH) commander.
