Petty Officer 1st Class Russell Sylve, Navy Recruiting Station  Mercado, talks with twin brothers Stephen and George Coppage of San Antonio during a weekly Delayed Entry Program Re-certification at the NRS.  The Coppage brothers are 2011 graduates of Louis D. Brandeis High School and joined the Navy to pursue careers in aviation support. They were recruited by Petty Officer 2nd Class Brooks Anderson of NRS Mercado.

NMETLC Sailors conduct community volunteer project

The project was part of the Navy Sailor 360, a command-level program for junior enlisted, senior enlisted and junior officers, designed to strengthen and develop leadership through community outreach events, classroom discussions and physical training. Lenard and Lopez are assigned to the Navy Medicine Education, Training and Logistics Command at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.

Chief Petty Officer Isabel Guerrero, Division 6 leading chief petty officer, Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, speaks with (left) Erica Jew of St. Louis and (right) future Sailor Ashiyanna Landers of Newport News, Va., during an All-Female Delayed Entry Program and Key Influencer Meeting hosted by NRD San Antonio at the Rosenberg Sky Room on the campus of the University of the Incarnate Word.  Landers, who attended San Antonio College, joined the Navy to become a hospital corpsman. Jew attended the event to provide Landers with moral and emotional support.

Navy Recruiting District San Antonio recognizes top Sailors

Petty Officer 1st Class Victor Ubri Jr. (left), a Navy officer recruiter assigned to Navy Recruiting District  San Antonio, stands with Commanding Officer Cmdr. Jeffrey Reynolds after being awarded NRD’s Active Officer Recruiter of the Year for Fiscal Year 2017 during the NRD’s annual award banquet held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Austin Dec. 19, 2017. Ubri became a recruiter to show people why America’s Navy is the good choice for military service. “This award means that I did my job to the best of my ability and was recognized for my efforts,” said Ubri. “I want to make sure the Navy’s future and our future Sailors are in capable hands.” Additionally, Ubri was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his superior performance of duty.
