JBSA-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas –
The Joint Base San Antonio 2016 Armed Forces Action Plan, or AFAP, forum took place at the Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston Installation Management Command Academy Nov. 1-3 and consisted of 48 volunteer delegates.
The delegates were divided up into four different working groups: force support, family support, medical/dental, and youth.
The delegates reviewed more than 47 different issues that not only affect JBSA, but could have a military-wide impact.
Each workgroup prioritized and selected two issues that were presented to senior leaders on the last day of the forum. All issues will be discussed at a local level with leadership for further action.
The status of the JBSA issues will be published online in February 2017.
AFAP is a program that manages change and improves the well-being of the military community, it gives service members, retirees, teens, spouses, survivors, Reservists, and civilian Department of Defense employees an opportunity to identify critical issues concerning quality of life, readiness, welfare or morale.
