Fitness Challenge: Week 7

An eight-week challenge recently pitted two teams of fitness center staff members against one another in a bid to improve the overall fitness of the teams. This is their thoughts to date.

Looking back over the past two months, if you  felt the "old" you was physically fit, do you still that that? If not, why?
If you didn't think the "old" you was physically fit, do you feel you are now? How will you continue to improve your fitness?

Colleen Au - Blue Team
I knew I wasn't physically fit, but I know I'm still not where I want to be. I have a lot of work left to do. I have learned a great deal and have made a good start. I think the biggest challenge is still in front of me. Fitness is not a short term thing. You have to make it a part of your life. That is the ultimate challenge.

Jim Wood - Blue Team
When I started the challenge I was a long way from the old me. This challenge has challenged me to become that fit, active, healthy person I once was.
I have had to change the way I do things. I had to face the fact that I am not a kid anymore. I have to work differently and harder.
I have had to learn how to eat, and to eat the right foods. When we are young we can eat anything. Not anymore. We have to eat for purpose. Not for pleasure.
Continuing with my renewed zest won't be easy. It never is for busy people. I have to always remember that no one will take of me better than me!
Make time for yourself. You are worth it.

James Johnson - Blue Team
I feel I'm very physically fit. However, there has been improvement in my stamina and energy. I will continue working out with the same intensity to maintain a high fitness level.

Matt Malenic - Blue Team
I don' feel that the "old" me was not physically fit. However, I can suddenly see my cardio respiratory and muscular endurance improving greatly.

Rich Brown - Blue Team
I can see significant improvement in my fitness level. Striving to be, and remain, physically fit is my goal.

Jacqueline Woodward- Blue Team
I feel that the "old" me was physically fit but that there were certain areas where I could improve. Over the last two months I have focused on those areas, like flexibility, more and I can see an over all improvement in my fitness level. When we did our half-way Micro-Fit test, my number showed improvement too. That was a motivator for me to keep going.

Martha Arroyo - Red Team
I feel like I am in better shape. I am physically fit and I feel stronger. I have always been an active person. This challenge has helped me to improve and reach my goals better.

Jared Ryan - Red Team
I think I was physically fit to begin with but there is always room for improvement. I will continue to stay active and adjust my goals accordingly.

Ken Hack - Red Team
Yes I did. I am fit, but like almost everything in life, I always have room to improve.

Steve Reichert - Red Team
The 'old' me was fit, but there is always room for improvement. This challenge not only identified those areas, but also gave me the motivation to improve them.

Amy Jackson - Red Team
I feel like I am in better shape now than I was before I started the challenge. Before this challenge I did not exercise and I did not eat healthy. Now that the challenge is almost over I am happy to say that I will continue my workout routine and improve my over all health.
I believe that everyone always has room for improvement some people just have more than others!

Antoinette Durden - Red Team
I feel that I have made a significant improvement in certain areas. Cardio is one of the biggest areas that still need a lot of work. With that being said, I would have to say that I still am not as physically fit as I could be.
