Navy Blue Angels headline AirFest 2008

The one-of-a-kind Navy Blue Angels demonstration team, the gravity-breaking Army parachute-jumping Golden Knights team, and Tora! Tora! Tora!, a re-enactment of Pearl Harbor, will headline Lackland AirFest 2008 Saturday and Sunday at Kelly Field Annex.

The event is free and open to the general public. Gates open both days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

AirFest is a family event where parents can enjoy the beauty of air power and children can play and participate in activities just for kids.

Other aerial demonstrations include performances by the F-22 Raptor, the 21st century fighter; the Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier, a ground attacking, fighter and bomber aircraft; as well as the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the Air Force's high performance combat aircraft.
Multiple static displays will give visitors an up close look at today's U.S. military air power.

Vintage aircraft filling the flight line will include: a P-40 Warhawk, B-25 Mitchell, P-47D Thunderbolt, and F4U-5 Corsair. Gates open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

· Aerial demonstrations begin at approximately 10:30 a.m.
· Concealed weapons, large tote bags, ice chests, backpacks, alcohol, skates, skateboards, roller blades and pets, with the exception of service animals, are prohibited.
