RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas –
It's school physical time again and 12th Medical Group personnel are taking appointments for sports, school and camp physicals at the Randolph Clinic.
Starting May 26, appointments will be offered for children ages 6-18 enrolled on Randolph Air Force Base.
A 20-minute appointment will be scheduled with family Primary Care Managers or another available provider. Appointments will be available during normal clinic hours. Scheduling the appointment as soon as possible will help to avoid the rush.
Since each school or camp has different requirements, it is parents' responsibility to provide the correct forms at the time of the appointment. If the child does not require a physical for school, sports or camp, medical group officials still recommend a yearly physical on or around their birthday.
Parents should bring all forms that need to be signed and are asked to complete as much of the forms as possible, prior to the appointment. Providers will also need a current shot record from the 12th MDG Immunization Clinic, which is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. If vaccines are required, they can be done at that time.
Historically, the 12 MDG has accomplished 800 to 1,000 school physical visits. This year, they are offering more than 1,200 appointments that will be available between May and August.
To schedule an appointment, call the central appointments office at 916-9900, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Medical officials strongly encourage early booking to ensure the physical is accomplished prior to camp, school or sports' team mandatory deadlines.
