Randolph seeks general aviators for Civil Fly-In

By Staff Reports 12th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs

Randolph Air Force Base officials invite general aviation pilots to fly to the airfield here and participate in a Civil Fly-In the base will host Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon on the flight line.

Ramp space is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis for this rare opportunity. Prior permission is required to land at the base and interested persons must submit a Department of Defense Form 2402.

The event provides a forum for civilian and military fliers to interact in promoting safe flying operations in the South Texas region, said Lt. Col. Doug Hamlin, event organizer from the 12th Flying Training Wing Safety Office.

Federal Aviation Administration and Randolph representatives will present flight safety briefings. Randolph pilots will be on hand with static display aircraft to answer questions and explain the 12 FTW's flying training program and the air space base pilots use regionally to conduct their mission.

Breakfast will be served for a nominal charge.

For more information and registration for the Civil Fly-In, general aviation pilots should call the Randolph Flight Safety Office at (210) 652-2224 or e-mail flight.safety@randolph.af.mil.
