JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas –
In an effort to fuel collaboration amongst Air Education and Training Command innovators, a virtual innovation summit will be held at 10 a.m. June 25.
The virtual event is being organized by the Headquarters AETC/A9 Analysis and Innovation team and will allow AETC innovators to share knowledge, learn from experience and replicate success.
“The iSummit is one way we help AETC innovators share their stories, connect with others and build partnerships that foster ideas and concepts towards experimentation,” said Dr. Randy Coats, AETC/A9 deputy director. “Our intent is to continue to grow the innovation ecosystem that brings Airmen’s ideas forward and to continue to collaborate with each other looking for opportunities of support from HQ AETC.”
The theme of the upcoming iSummit is Innovation Processes: Avenue for Ideas & Innovations. A9 will have experts from the different possible avenues to discuss their processes.
“For AETC Airmen interested in innovation, this is a great way to get an idea of what other AETC innovators are doing, as well as learn how to tap into the command’s innovation ecosystem to help make your great ideas a reality,” said Coats.
The iSummit will feature subject matter experts from Air Force Research Lab Small Business Innovation Research program and Small Business Technology Transfer program to discuss SBIR/STTR funding for innovations as well as the recent changes to the process.
Also, a subject matter expert from A9 will discuss the AETC’s Transformational Education and Training Applications (ATETA) and Technology Transfer (T2).
“A9A is working diligently to streamline the process of advancing a project from idea to innovation and we are excited to showcase the new i2i process and framework,” said Coats. “We are looking forward to a lively and profitable discussion.”
This is primarily a virtual event, with most attendees connecting via phone or VTC. Participants who are on-site at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph can attend in person at HQ AETC in the Texan Conference Room in building 900.
