Air Force Band of the West's Dimensions in Blue jazz ensemble performs July 1

Kick off your July 4 early with the U.S. Air Force Band of the West's Dimensions in Blue jazz combo at the Sunken Gardens Theater in Brackenridge Park in San Antonio, with a free concert at 7:30 p.m. July 1.

The ensemble will perform a variety of numbers in America's original art form -- jazz. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert runs from 7-8:30 p.m.

As one of the Air Force’s finest and most versatile big bands, Dimensions in Blue features 12 talented musicians from around the country. The band currently tours over 30,000 miles and entertains over a million people each year.

 

While admission is free, tickets are necessary and can be reserved at http://www.eventbrite.com/o/usaf-band-of-the-west-6956447637. Registration is also available at http://www.music.af.mil/Bands/Band-of-the-West/.

Presented by the Brackenridge Park Conservancy, the event will have food and beverages available for purchase. No outside beverages are allowed. The performance is family-friendly and open to the public.

Seating is available, but it is recommended for people to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs.
