PHC-Central Soldier represents Army at Armed Forces Volleyball Tourney

By Erin Perez Regional Health Command-Central Public Affairs

Spc. Rikki Inman, an animal care specialist at the South Texas Branch Veterinary Services at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, represented Army Medicine, Regional Health Command-Central and Public Health Command-Central on the All Army Volleyball team at the 2017 Armed Forces Women’s Volleyball Tournament where the Army placed third over the course of the four-day tournament.

Inman began playing volleyball in the eighth grade, and played throughout high school for both her school as well as community clubs.

Inman was one of 40 Soldiers who submitted a packet in order to represent the Army in women’s volleyball. Fourteen of the women who submitted packets were selected for a trial camp, and of those, 12 women, including Inman, were selected for the team.

Although the Army did not win the championship, and came in third overall, Inman said she was grateful for the chance to represent the Army.

“I am grateful that my leadership has afforded me the opportunity,” she said. “I have worked hard in preparation for try outs and have continued to push myself at every practice since being selected. Being on this team is a unique experience, and I am proud to represent the United States Army on the court.”
