By Robert Shields Brooke Army Medical Center Public Affairs

Col. Gloria Bonds (right), Brooke Army Medical Center deputy commander for inpatient services, and Spc. Ashley Abney (left), Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care chaplain assistant, help celebrate Arbor Day April 28 by helping to plant a red oak tree in front of the garden entrance to the hospital. The first official Arbor Day was held April 10, 1872 in Nebraska. It was estimated that more than one million trees were planted on that date.
