San Antonio Spurs' Kyle Anderson visits JBSA-Camp Bullis

By Steve Elliott 502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

Kyle Anderson, a 23-year-old shooting guard for the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, visited Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis March 14 to get a close look at the training Air Force officer and enlisted personnel experience.

Anderson donned protective gear to observe a team of Air Force Security Forces trainees traverse the rough terrain at JBSA-Camp Bullis during an assault training exercise. After the exercise, Anderson met with the trainees, signed autographs and posed for photos.

The 6-foot-9-inch third-year professional and UCLA alum said he was very impressed by the dedication and skill of the trainees. He also noticed how the team kept in constant visual and voice communication, commenting that was much like what he experienced on the court with his San Antonio Spurs teammates.

"Thank you for everything you do out here," Anderson said to the trainees. "I  really appreciate what you do for us."

Anderson then visited with Air Force Officers in the Basic Officer Leadership Course, where he talked to cadre about what the officers were learning. He also met with a number of officers in the course, signed autographs and posed for photos.
