MR. ROBERT J. WEST

Robert J. West is the Director of Maintenance, 12th Flying Training Wing, Randolph AFB, Texas. He is responsible for the daily safe operations of over 650 civil service and contractor employees in five divisions including three squadrons. He is responsible for the 12th Maintenance Group which performs launch/recovery and off/on equipment maintenance for T-1A, T-6A, T-38C and T-38 IFF aircraft valued at more than $760 million. The Group's annual civilian pay, O&M and reimbursable budgets exceed $50 million.

Mr. West retired from the Air Force in February of 2010 with the rank of colonel. He is a career aircraft maintenance leader, who has held a wide variety of maintenance and logistics positions at the squadron, group, wing, and headquarters levels. Prior to his current position he was assigned to Air Education and Training Command as the Division Chief, Maintenance Division, Randolph AFB, Texas. He entered federal civil service in March of 2010.
